A visual artist for the past 20 years, I have lived, worked and travelled in Europe, Asia and the U.S.A.  I now live in the bush outskirts of Daylesford, Victoria with my partner and three children.  Since settling here, I have put down roots and look to the earth for inspiration - using clay as my medium engages me in a rich sensory interaction with my environment.  My intention is that you see and feel the earth in the objects i make.

My ceramic work is lightly and loosely formed - each piece individual.  I am guided by an intuitive sense of harmony, a desire for natural, uncomplicated balance and the graceful resonance of a natural line in a useful shape.  I like the surface to remember its journey into being - the marks and texture of its making.  I use layers of slip, oxide and glaze in which purposeful marking responds to the natural surface.  Here I explore imagery I find compelling; seeking to express my sense of earth with earth itself.

In my current series of functional forms, I wish to bring a sense of wonder and reverence for elemental nature into your world.  The dish, vase , plate, cup celebrate love of home, family, humanity... the sharing of food, the gathering of flowers, the homegrown and the handmade...  the timeless, eternal, constant and ever changing...  the simple, sacred connections between us - and earth - and universe.
